Halloween is next week, and it's probably the most treacherous driving night of the year.  Residential and city neighborhoods will literally be flooded with pedestrians and stop & go drivers. 

In my neighborhood, there are between 150- 200  ghouls/ goblins and princesses that will stop by.  My street becomes a wave of parents, kids & dogs,  darting back and forth. Cars will be pulling on and off the side of the road unpredictably.  Some cars will be found creeping down the street, following their trick or treater's house to house.  It is truly mayhem! 

All of us here at Georgetown Insurance Agency, ask that you please follow the guidelines below to keep our children safe-

1. Never ever use your cell phone while driving on Halloween. A cell should not be used while driving anyway, but a single second of distraction behind the wheel could end in disaster on this night.
2. Always drive BELOW the posted speed limit on Halloween.  
3. Pay attention to people pulling over, stop and think before passing a slowing/stopped car. Kids may be getting out and just running across the street for candy. 

Walkers tend to feel safe in numbers, and they are less cautious about the traffic going by. So if you are driving, be more than just responsible on Halloween, be courteous, PATIENT, and stay alert!
