Don't you just love New England when it comes to winter sports! If you plan on hooking up that trailer, loading up your "toys" and heading for snow fun, make sure to check out these great reminders.
Trailer owners need to follow some basic rules about safety, or your vehicle and trailer can end up stranded at the side of the road.
Before you pull out of your driveway, check out the most common 8 mistakes made...
1) Take it easy on vehicle engine
2) check for proper installation of weight distribution bars
3) check your brake system
4) load the trailer properly
5) check ball mounts
6) keep vehicle speed down
7) check tire pressure
and finally
8) proper lubrication
And of course, here is an insurance coverage reminder. Trailer's have liability coverage automatically provided, by the vehicle pulling it. The body of your trailer may not be covered, unless you specifically add collision and comprehensive coverage for the value of your trailer. So check your insurance coverage if you are concerned with the trailer itself being damaged!

Tip six is important to remember. Some people take it just a bit to far in my opinion, but you should indeed go slower than you normally would be. There is no reason to risk your life to get somewhere sooner.
